What the heck is wrong with people? Need to Vent

I can't believe the people these days. I was at my parent's house today and when my brother went out in the back yard he found that someone was in the yard last night. About month ago my brother's brand new bike was stolen out of the shed. Now last night someone was trying to take his old bike which was locked up and they tried to melt his bike lock. This is just rediculous. The guy nest door to my mom found someone is yard at 5 this morning and called the police and that guy is now in lock up. Why is it that no one can have anything without it going missing? This is just bull. People have no respect at all for other people's things. My brother paied good money for that lock and now it is melted. I wouldn't trust to use it in case someone goes back and finishes the job. I mean my brother has lost two bike already and almost lost another one. I told my parents they should install an alarm system in the house and maybe get something along the same line for the shed and the garage. Something has to be done about the huge crime sprees in town. There is not need for it.

No kidding. My mom even called the police today only because of the melted bike lock and they still couldn't do anything. As for the shed incident a month or so ago. That is considered beak and enter but my mom knew that nothing would be done if she called because it is still a stolen bike. It is a shame that no one can do anything. Someone people can't afford to get new bikes when they get stolen. My dad was pissed and will not get my brother a new one. I swear I hope the next person that goes in my parent's yard gets cought and my brother can manage to hold them there until the police come. They are not small boys at all. They got muscle to back themselves up if they need to. Their luck they would get charged with something not the person that went in the yard.

My mom is in the west end of town on Connaught Ave. The police told my mom that there has been a lot of calles the past few days.

I dont think that is to far from where I am. You have already probably seen my vent about my vehicle tires. When we called the cops they just took a report over the phone because we didnt have any suspects. There is way to many trouble makers in town now a days and of all ages. No one with Respect for anything.

Caught a kid in my shed a few years back he got away but not till he got a few good shots in his head. No trouble since then. Way I figured it he came at me so I was forced to defend myself so it would have boiled down to his word or mine.

That is true. This is reduculous. I remember when the cops used to do something about stolen bikes. I had mine stolen years ago and got it back. Now they just don't do anything. The thing is my brother didn't even get a chance to have his bike registered. That is the only time something is done is if the bike was registerd. My brother was so ticked he wanted to go out and fine who took his bike and beat the crap out of him. I think its all just jelousy. People are just jelous of the things that others have so they have to steal things. My brother thinks he knows who has his bike but can't prove it and it probably got repainted by now.

I hope someone does get caught and my brothers take a round out of them. Serves them right. At least the guy on the other side of my mom said that he would watch out and make sure that no one is in their yard. He hasn't had anything stolen yet but he also just moved in. Give it time. There was a time that my mom's plates were stolen off her car as well. That is just nuts. Like really why steal stuff like that when people report them they are just going to get caught if they use them. What idiots I tell ya.

Put their names all over the place, that is one thing.... the dog gone laws hide these criminals, if they are caught.

if you were a punk and you knew you could get away with s h . t and not have to worry about getting published or significantly penalized then ya you'd be less leary too.

maybe they could put yellow dye in the tires...........

I told my parents that the best thing to do for now is to just keep the bikes in the basement. Anyone try to break in the house my mom's dog will go after them. She is really bad now since someone broke into our house years ago when we lived on Charles st. The cop wouldn't even go into the house because all he saw was a big dog chain at the back door and thought that my mom's dog was bigger that what she was at the time. She is a mean dog when it comes to stuff like that. she is vary protective especially when there are kids in the house. The cop said that the dog must have scared them off or somthing because they nothing was stolen. We were not home at the time good thing.

I was just reading another post about cops being all over in the douglas/korah road aread. That is crazy, that's jut down aways from my parent's house. I can't believe this. You are not safe to go anywhere. I am afraid to let my kids go outside and now this just meake me even more afraid

I am also in the westend area. I have had a huge van parked in front of my house for about a month now. I have no clue who it belongs too. Anyways someone through eggs at it, through rocks at it, went through it as the drivers door was left open and pulled the wipers. I called the police about a week and a half ago about the vandelism to the van and that I do not know who it belongs to.

So they came and checked it out, searched the van and came back the next night. They told me that night that a tow truck was comming to get it. Seen the tow truck pull up and talk to the cops for a good 20 minutes or so and they left with the van still sitting there. Now the front windshield of the van is cracked. I am just waiting for someone to set it on fire or break all the windows. I don't want that kind of crap going on right in front of my house. I have hated moving to this area ever since i moved here almost 3 months ago.
