    Default Hmmm I wonder

    http://sootoday.com/content/news/ful...ryNumber=53387

If the ambulance had the sirens on or just the lights like they usually do. I see this daily. I remember some years back I posted a thread about this. Emergency vehicles should have their sirens on at all times not just through the intersections. I see cops doing this just to get through a light.
Every time I see an ambulance they are always shutting their sirens off after getting through the intersection. What there is no more traffic after intersections? You wonder why no one pulls over for them. Someone is going to get killed one of these days at the hands of them.
It would be interesting to know the cause of this accident.

Don't know what happened here but consider that ambulance drivers are well trained and the average motorist isn't. If you have your mind on a phone call, boppin to music, radio blaring....basically not concentrating on your driving..?? or some people panic and don't know where to go when they see emergency vehicles approaching. It isn't the case in this instance but if an ambulance is going to the hospital with light but no sirens it could be due to the patients condition, ... just sayin'

Firstly I will say I was not there so do not know. But paramedics are highly trained, not to say that an accident can't happen or mistakes can't be made but I lean towards it is more likely than not the driver of the other vehicles fault. All to often I see people not pulling over, pulling out right in front of the ambulance or just plane stopping in the middle of the road in front of the ambulance. These people should be fined.

Not that long ago I was riding in the ambulance in the front as my Gram was going to the hospital and it was a rush, she was found in a diabetic coma. Anyways they did not have the siren on the entire way as they could not radio the hospital or they could but couldn't hear and they couldn't hear to talk to each other. They did however put the sirens well before the intersection. They also almost came to a stop before going through. They don't just plow through the intersections so this also leads me to believe that the other driver was probably at fault.

    Again I wasn't there I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me.

Do we know if they were in "emergency" mode? Wouldn't be the first time you see an ambulance on the road that wasn't headed for an emergency & this could be an auto accident that can happen between you & I.. just so happens it's an ambulance. ... Now if it was on an emergency call - disregard lol
