    Default mapping network drive

ok, I got a rather odd problem. I am not able to map a network drive under XP, but I can map it just fine under Vista.
I tried everything I can think off, it just refuses to map it.
And yes, I can ping the server from my XP machine.
    The server runs XP Pro.

I find that mapping drives by their IP address seems to work more consistantly (if you haven't tried that already)

I tried everything, including that. It's very odd, I have no explanation for it. I might have to do a dreaded reinstall to get this working.
