Default Walk Tonight

Went for a walk on a local river tonight. Not too much water was flowing, but the watershed is full of Tannic acid from the bush, so the foam made for some interesting patterns. From the bush, the sky looked like it was going to give up a nice sunset, but no go; I should have stayed to get some more river pictures.....oh well

Oh I know Chako, I mean photographs are a dime a dozen, its the ones that take your breath away - that you can't stop looking at - a good photographer can capture that, without effort.
People walk all the time - do they really see the true beauty around them or is it just water, trees and flowers?
Even bugs...your macros are amazing Chako, to some they are just bugs - to a photographer it is art - personified.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. Chako, that 2nd one was 5 sec. exposure, and the bottom one was 3.2 seconds. I did a series of three 8" x 10" on white mattes of the second shot, and the next two series of rocks downstream, and they turned out really well. The white mattes brought out the colours nicely.

I like the first picture, because it has two focal points. The eye is immediately drawn to the waterfall, but you also pick up the burnt out logs from the campfire after a second.

Thanks again

could you format a few of these in widescreen? these pics look absolutly amazing on my LCD, but they get slightly disproportioned as a backround. im currently using 1400 x 900. thx
