Are you looking for a kinder, gentler way of training you dog? Do you want to get away from the traditional training of jerk and praise? Clicker training or Operant Conditioning may be the solution you are looking for! Clicker training will give you a willing, happy dog that is engaged in its training. Clicker training will create a stronger bond between you the owner and your dog.
Cost is $50 per person or $55 (includes clicker) per person. Location is the Sault Ste Marie Kennel Club building, 76 Fourth Line West , Sault Ste Marie.

Instructors are Brandie Sanderson and Karen Coutu. This is geared toward the beginner.

I've always wondered about this method. Can your dog be too old to train? My dogs are 3 and 4 and are chihuahuas.....what are my chances? lol! Seriously though....

It is never too late to use positive reinforcement and consistency to train your dogs. But dogs are just like children...without consistency and guidelines there is no progress.

I do know someone who was told by a trainer that it was "too late" to train their dog. It's not true. Old habits are hard to break for both owner and pup- so give it lots of time.

But whatever you learn from a trainer must be done at home and by everyone in the household to be really effective

Never too old...chihuahuas however.....they own people. lol I have 200lb dogs, but chi's are NOTHING like this in comparison to attitude. I know many people with chihuahuas, and they scare me to death! lol I'd steal a tv from a household with 5 danes before i'd try a house with one chi!!! lol *no im not out to steal tv's* lol
