Not worth it... I went for the 1st time this year and between the exchange rate, bridge fare, taxes coming back, combined with the exaustion of waking up in the wee hours of the morning and the lineups.... I would rather have gotten more sleep and been relaxed shopping at home in Canada.

How is it an Americanization of Canada? It refers to American stores, after American Thanksgiving.

If some of the shoppers are Canadian, well ,that's your problem.

The stores in Canada are now having the sales based on the American Thanksgiving and shopping traditions. There was no such thing as Black Friday in Canada a few years ago.

It may be our problem, but it's still an Americanization of Canada...
We in Canada do that... you sneeze, we catch a cold.

If you've been over there and don't like it, only you can be a judge of Black Friday shopping. If you've never been over there, then don't knock it til you've tried it.

Even if you don't get there in the "wee" hours for the big cost items for dirt cheap, (tvs, computers, name brand toys, etc), there is still a TON of savings for Christmas shopping or even just household items.

I love shopping on Black Friday, but I go later in the morning (7,8 or 9am)after the "animals" are done their rushing around. Those who are so eager can stand in line for hours, I won't/don't.

Because they anticipate crowds, most places have a cashier at every til. Every store I went to had no lineups at the cashiers.

lmao my friend talked me into going at 4 am. i didnt think any of the sales were that spectacular, there was no rush, no line ups no crowds, but everyone was being pulled in at customs to pay duty, so any savings went to customs. not going to bother next year. had to try it at least once, been there, done that, moving on. lol thanks for some funny comments. and for the record, i did google it, but it just didnt satisfy my questions. thought there might be more there, then what i was finding. thats all.
