Its not about slow or fast, its about keeping tempo. The tempo of the music is driven by the percussion (drums), .... if they can keep the proper tempo, they are good, .... anything else is garbage.

I think he's excellent! There are, of course many much better than him, but he IS good. Much better music too, than the Dream Theater one. Too slow to show his potential.

That's what I was talking about when HM went off subject, giving a drumming lesson

It's quite easy to tell who's an actual musician and who is far from it in this thread...

    Smile Re: Jonny Amendola Drummer

thanks for the compliments. the kid works his ass off and really loves what he does. this aint a competion. anyone that treats musical instruments as such does not get it and will miss out on the best part of music. as for his ability? this is the first 2 songs that i had the ability to record...these aren't the most technical songs he does. i chose them because to me? avenged is the least abraisive out of the lot. i love heavy but too a point.
after all. i am old enough to be his dad....lololololololol.
thanks for the positive comments . means alot to him and to his proud father.

The reason I put this up was someone sent this to my nephew Brent K. on face book.

Not true... While the Dream Theater song may be slower it is much more complex because of time and tempo changes. Also, the footwork is great (especially around the 4:00 mark). With that being said, I think the Avenged Sevenfold song is great too. You can't compare the songs to each other, though, as they are completely different styles. But Hats off to the kid for playing that. It's one of my preferred drum pieces from that album. I was pretty impressed with the cover.
