    Smile Question-CRTC

Not sure where or when I read that the CRTC was "suppose to" become involved with the regulating of t.v. volumes. Not refering to the number of t.v.s just the volume of them. You know, for example, was watching a movie on t.v. today and the commercials started coming on extremely loud. I mean, I know that we are spoiled in this day and age but...Movie went to commercial, so I had headed to the basement to work on laundry and holy...I mean I live off Peoples Rd. and wouldn't want to start "waking" the neighbours up here. LOL. Does anyone else recall this being discussed and when it is "suppose" to be done?

I think sometime in Septemeber if I recall correctly. This allows the companys time to adjust their technology - lol. I have noticed that some channels already are in compliance.

I can't find anything about a Canadian law - but we'll follow suit.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission announced on Tuesday that broadcasters must control the loudness of the ads they air on TV. Their deadline to do so is Sept. 1, 2012

It annoys the hell out of me. There is really no excuse for it.

Comedy channel has always been bad for really loud commercials I find. But its nice the CRTC is doing something useful for once.

This has been a problem since General Electric was a corporal, it's nice to see/hear something being done.
