PS3 Latency

My PS3 is running extremely slow. It's taking sometimes 10 minutes to load up or run games. I called Sony and they had me reformat it and do some file repair diagnostic. Neither solved my problem and it seems to be getting worse. Sony wants me to send it to them, but before I spend $150 to sendit off, anyone have any other suggestions?

could be HD probs loading. how long have you owned it. movies do the same thing?

if its an old model your bluray drive is probably dying. common problem with these models.

Ryan, mine's doing the same thing. A friend of mine told me to start backing up my saves cuz it's bound to die anytime. Same thing happened to him.

Sony said it was a hardware problem. It's just over a year old. Wish I would have backed up and bought the extended warranty. Now do I fix ot or buy a new one? FML.

is it actually dead now? if not back up to a usb stick.

I switched put the hard drive and it solved the probem.

cool, what size was the original HD. Maybe it was choking. What size did you replace it with?

The original HD was 320. I put a smaller one in... I think a 180. Might upgrade it to a bigger one in the future to store music.
