That is funny I heard that exact phrase used many times from the pulpit when I was a young man, Were you sleeping in your pew?

Reminds me of a preacher who went on and on once at a service I was at about "little white lies". He said that they should never, ever be used.

    Well....

I figure, if I'm ever at some lady's house, and she asks me how was the food (which tasted like parboiled skunk), I'm gonna be guilty!!!

Ok, so I'll ask the question again and see if I get a straight answer or not.

Does one need to be born again or not to go to heaven?

I'm pretty sure that if I go to service at your church tomorrow morning I will hear the phrase used from the pulpit.

Yes, a person who enters heaven WILL be "born again", even if he never heard the term, or even understands what it means.

I will try to explain it to you real slowly The circle with Islam on it represents all the Islamic People. The lines coming off that circle to other circles represent the various Sects of the Islamic Faith. The circle showing the number of Sunni's is simply a breakdown showing how many of the total are Sunni's. Therefore(FYI This is what ergo means more or less) the number of Sunni's is already included in the Number of Muslims. Does that make a little easier for you?

FYI:A Muslim is a person who practises the Islamic faith.

Now that is curious. I am now confused. Why is it that I have been told by so many people from your congregation that they are Born Again? Do they think they have died and gone to heaven already?

Oh not to worry I have spent enough Sundays on Edison Ave or the little chaple on Goulais Ave to know what is and isn't said at a Service in the new Church on 2nd Line.

    Aren't YOU thilly!!!

Sound to me like you got caught up in some of the buzz words used by Christians, born again, washed in the blood, thr redeemed, sanctified, the raptured of heaven (from an old song!!).

It should be obvious to you that the words used to decribe a Christian are not important. His heart condition is.

Where is yours?? We have a few folk from that chapel on Goulais coming to Bethany, but I'm afraid too many got burnt by their type of "religion".

He also believes that when posters are tired of dancing in circles with him and give up he wins.

I have also noticed that he will jump all over you(RW) for an opinion that he does not agree with. Even though the subject matter more often then not is in a grey area, and pretty much comes down to interpretation.

He also seems to have missed the passage in the bible that says "Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged".

Man o' man, you summed him up perfectly!

    Very hypocritical on such things.

No, not at all. He is very aware of it, because he will throw it out at others all the time. But for some strange reason (probably having to do with his 'holier-than-though' problem), he feels many Bible passages do not apply to him.

learning is the idea, through honest (rare) discussion, not winning.

As to RW and interpretation, sure we have our differences. But only RW won't admit we have our similarities.

As to judgeing, well, you need a lesson on judging too, and I suggest you check the context of the verse.

Wait for me to "delete" RW again?? Don't bother, I only delete his insults, though he would have you believe otherwise.

back to "born again'. No, it wasn't mentioned at church this morning, nor, as I said for as long as I can remember.

Therer may be a reason for that. In the tradition of the Bretheren who used to run that chapel, Sunday morning service was almost always an evanglical message. Their real study of God's word took place on other days, at bible studies. Just a different way of doing things, and you'd be a lot more likely to hear it on a Sunday morning.

Right, that's why you totally deleted a thread I made about a Protestant sex abuse case, so new it just made the news, after you spent days inflaming a Catholic sex abuse thread dealing with a case years old.
