The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.''

When you find this, pertaining to the english language, please let me know:

"L'Académie française (French pronunciation: [lakademi fʀɑ̃sɛz]), also called the French Academy, is the pre-eminent French learned body on matters pertaining to the French language."

Also from my site, paragraph 2.....
In some nations, language academies have been established to settle such matters, as with the French Academy, formed nearly four hundred years ago, but to date English speakers have repudiated suggestions of a regulating body for their language. Instead, entrepreneurs like Noah Webster have earned their living by writing dictionaries and grammars, usually with a mix of description and prescription. Increasingly, though, scholarly grammars and dictionaries are exclusively descriptive.
Quite right, which is what I've been saying:
"... English speakers have repudiated suggestions of a regulating body for their language.."

and it goes on to say "Instead, entrepreneurs like Noah Webster have earned their living by writing dictionaries and grammars, usually with a mix of description and prescription. Increasingly, though, scholarly grammars and dictionaries are exclusively descriptive."
That suggests that while, yes, there is no governing body, so to speak - society has allowed some (i.e. Webster) establish a standard. We do not all go through life changing spelling and grammar as we please. There is order.
Just for Soundbear.

Oh?? I'm sure you've noticed changes in your lifetime, as have I.
Is there a standard? Sure. But it's not universally accepted. Simple.
Now this does not apply to those who get a perverse joy from dissing others grammar, especially when they have totally been blown away in a discussion.

Nah, didn't notice.
If it's worthless, it makes my point. Just another person's opinion as to how the language should be used.
