Duty on auto parts

I can't seem to find a straight answer on google, wondering if anyone here knows before I call CBSA.

Do you pay duty on auto parts regardless of their manufacturing origin? I've read yes, no and only if they aren't manufactured in Canada, US or Mexico.

Anyone care to share their knowledge?

There is no duty, but you will have to pay hst.

I got about two hundred bucks of auto parts a while back. I told the guy, but he let me through.

No doubt I'm a little late, I buy 95% of my parts at advance. Most times they don't do nothin and let u go other times I paid. For instamce 2 wheel hubs totaled little less than 200$us
I got dinged...250 bux mixed parts nothing. Depends on the mood and who it is... I mostly get thelook or pulled over by some of the female agents( not to be sexist it sounds that wat not my intent.).

Sometiimes savings on the part is worth it.

I've fond most cases if you even get pulled in after declaring the parts, it was just to pay taxes on the parts, no duty.

I think I've only ever paid once, and I believe it was just tax.
