DRY SKIN ....help please

Can someone Please give me a suggestion on how to eliminate dry skin on my Shih Tuz Puppy
I started him on OMEGA -3 salmon and fish oils
which was fine BUT very shortly after ,he had to go out thru` the night to poop (every night )
His groomer uses a special shampoo ,but that`s only every 5 or 6 weeks
I don`t shampoo him at home .....I would appreciate any suggestions !!!

Shih Tzus are notorious for having grain allergies/intollerances and they get dry and itchy. If you aren't already giving him a grain free food, I reccomend that.
If he has the runs from the fish oil reduce the amount you give him. If they get too much they may end up with an oily coat as well.

Is it just dry skin/dandruff or does he have redness? bumps? rash?
How are his ears? do they seem red and irritated?
These could be signs of an allergy.

I`m just concerned that I should try something
else instead of the Omega 3....Did you find his skin DRY ???

OMG... lol . his skin seemed fine a little dry but nothing I would worry about.

I had the same issue with ome of my dogs.. They r both portuguese waterdogs. My dogs was biting his leg constantly.. We tried 5 different types of food.. Than we found a no grain one across the river at pets plus.. 50$ a bag.. But my dog poops twice a day now, it has no grain and the itching has stopped.. We chose the Taste of the Wild with Lamb.. Their r plenty of different types of dog food.. Just make sure the first 5 ingredients dont involve a filler.. for bathing I tried sensitive skin bubble bath by Avon and dilulated it..Dogs seem fine now and smell much better(btw. Im not just saying this because I sell it) ive tried other dog shampoos also.. This was just convient since I had some left over.
