Thumbs down Decent fresh cut fries?

I am finding that places that sell so called fresh cut fries are obviously not dedicating at least ONE FRYER exculsively for the fries. I continually taste FISH no matter where I go to get fries. These kind of short cuts are not good for business. If I want FISH AND chips i will order it. SO...who has fresh cut...fish taste free fires?

I am willing ot bet the new restaurant on second line has fresh cut fries fish free. I don't think they sell fish and since they are a poutinery they should have fresh cut fries.

My Dad makes the best fresh cut fries - that goes along with his English style fish n' chips... I keep telling him he could open up a food truck and sell his fish n chips - he would make a bundle.

I believe that there are no restaurants in the soo that take the time to serve freshly cut fries. They're all frozen these days simply because cutting taters takes up way too much time!

The new place on second line cuts fresh potatoes. I know because my son works there and his job is cutting the fries, he also says that they have one double fryer dedicated to fries only.

"Juggs" is right. My wife and i ate at the new place on Friday and we could see a young man putting potatoes threw a fry cutter, also we spoke to the owner because my wife has food allergies and asked if the fries are cooked in only fry oil and we were assured that this was the case, he said they only cook fries in the one fryer. I must also add that you get huge portions of food, and it was very good. I will recommend this place to all my friends. its nice to have something different as far as restaurants are concerned for a change.

This is correct but you won't convince the conspiracy theorists. They still think Elvis was abducted by aliens...

The restaurant at Soo Curlers also cuts their own, although they don't have a dedicated vat for fries only.

the problem with the places providing 'fishy' fries and even fried chicken (that tastes like fish) is they are too lazy to cook seperately...and they never change the oils. If the oil is never changed, and you cooked, say chicken, three times over in it, it'll start to be 'fishy' and thats where the fishiness comes from. When you cook meat in oil, CHANGE IT! As far as fries, DEEP FRY IT SEPERATELY IN FRY OIL ONLY! I know this because I make fries at home. But if there is a poutine place where they're fresh cut fries... lmk

On wednesdays at the fraternal order of eagles(beside RJ's) they also do their own fries cut fresh just before cooked and rinsed then fried in non fish grease. So I beg to differ with you and it doesn't take much time when they put the potatoes threw a cutter.

Don't flatter yourself. Lame is as lame does, don't look in the mirror too long...
