I don't mind it myself. My kids were going to St Ann a couple years ago. They kept trying to petition to keep the consolidation from happening. I can understand why the board wants it though. Class sizes are really small and it costs a lot of money to run them. I like the idea of my kids having access to newer technology and such. I don't think the bus rides will increase all that much time wise. We moved two years ago and now they go to St Hubert's. This is one of the schools that will be closing this month and joining three other schools to become Holy Cross. My daughter will finally be in a single grade class. She is currently in grade 1 and there is only 7 kids in her class. That is with two new students starting this year. I'm looking forward to seeing more kids her age and meeting new kids. I just hope the school is finished being built in time.

Having had two kids stuck in split grade classes year after year, here in the city, I gave in and finally sent the youngest to 7-8 at Superior Heights. Glad I did. She's now got two grade 9 credits under her belt, in grade 8. That said, she hasn't spent much more time on a bus. Education in split grades can't possibly be as good as in a single grade class.
