    Default Smashed potatoes

I was at a BBQ last night and the hostess made these amazing potatoes, so I had to share.

    Ingredients
whole, med size new red potatoes, leaving the skin on
    Pam, spices

Boil the potatoes in a pot just until tender
Spray a cookie sheet with Pam
Put the potatoes one at a time on a cutting board, take a small pot and hit the potatoes firmly (with the bottom of the pot) so they are about 1/4" to 1/2" in height.
Spray both sides of the potato with Pam, (or brush on butter or margarine) add your spices (garlic pwdr, seasoning salt, pepper, etc) and place on cookie sheet.

Turn your oven to the broil setting and broil each side (turning a few times) until crispy. These were awesome.

I've tried making these twice now. Must be a secret to smashing them lol. Mine ended up breaking in pieces when I hit them, but they turned out tasty anyways.

heinzman, I'm sure they would do well on the bbq too. I just have to work on the "smash" part lol.
