It's a bible thing. Sinned means fallen, away from what God wants, which is to love Him and your fellow man.
Which, of course (OP) is why Westboro is so wrong.

''Our culture has accepted two huge lies: The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear them or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.''
"All have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
Isn't that just another way of saying. 'We're not responsible'?
A wounded bird that crashes through your window can cause quite a commotion, but is essentially harmless.

That's one of the paradoxes that get my goat in Christianity: "You have been given the free will to do the right thing, but you won't."
Another one is: "You're guilty, but you're forgiven."
Sounds all like a recipe for subservience, to me.

HOLY SMOKE, BATMAN, YOU NAILED IT!!!!
Submit to God, give Him the only real thing we have of value, ourselves. IMO, that's what a relationship with God is all about, which leads to being with Him for all eternity. Forget the buzz words, the religions, the trappings men put around "church".

An eternity of subservience sounds a lot like Hell, if you ask me. You can have it. I'll pass.

Well, that's where we differ again, because I believe in equality in all relationships.
A wounded bird that crashes through your window can cause quite a commotion, but is essentially harmless.
We only differ in our understanding, because, in a marriage, both partners are servants to each other.
The relationship with God is the same. Remember that He was a servant as He died for our sins.
The equality you describe is nothing more than selfishness without the servant heart. And maybe that's the reason for so many divorces. Equality means independance to too many.

Well, since I didn't elaborate on what equality means to me, you'll have to consider selfishness a guess.

And if you don't explain, I'll have to continue to think so.

[QUOTE=The Left Sock]
When you isolate yourself in your beliefs, and stop seeking understanding from the outside world, this is what happens.
When you think you have it all figured out, and are willing to go to any lengths to defend it, this is what happens.
When you become paranoid that others are trying to destroy your beliefs, and you develop a persecution complex, this is what happens.
When you are angry with the world, because everyone won't get on the same page with your beliefs, this is what happens.
When you lose all perspective of what it means to be human, in your quest for the divine, this is what happens.
Here it is - this is what happens: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=dcb_1343078772
Welcome to insanity, gentlemen!

Moments ago, I decided to go through this religion section more than I had to this point, to try to understand what's going on in this site .
Would you, fellow-posters and readers, not jump to any conclusions ?

You are trying to understand?
Is that what you are REALLY trying to do? I wonder about that!
Back to my silent corner before I get into more trouble unless of course it is too late! Me and my mouth!
