I sent a letter to the Minister of Natural Resources, with my personal opinion on MY water rights.

I am getting tired of people claiming THEY have rights to this or that. You don't.

I certainly hope you are not saying my rights are less than the native rights, I believe that WE , all People, are responsible for the Natural resources of this Planet, we live upon. Every single person has the responsibility to protect the resource of earth. Not just a few but we are all going to suffer when our lakes, forests and lands are destroyed or poisoned

We all need to respect each other and our planet.

I was in college with a guy in the early 90's. The guy was smart beyond belief, but couldn't spell worth beans. He literally had to carry a dictionary to all his classes with him. The ability to spell correctly has no relation to a person's intelligence.

Well when one has no arguments, it'll do.

It does not work like that. If everyone would have rights to all natural resources it would be an economical disaster.
If you go by your beliefs, you should be able to walk into a diamond mine and mine whatever you feel and it would be yours to keep.
Let me know how you make out.

I did not say this person was not intelligent. I said I find it hard to take them seriously. If one didn't take the time or put in the effort to make a proper sign why should I believe they are serious or take pride in their cause. If that person knows they can not spell they should have had help with making their sign.

folks... this is a thread related to some serious issues (ie illiteracy amongst native AND non native cultures)... not a place for name-calling and silly pettiness... if you want to be immature, send a pm to someone who cares... otherwise, let's keep the discussion going...

Last time I read up on the issues in Attawapiskat there are conditions on the monies they receive put in place by the government and certain amounts has to be spent on vehicles. Last I recall Attawapiskat is littered with abandoned brand new vehicles due to this reason.
So as I understand it everyone out there has brand new vehicles because that's what this money must be spent on.

More and more people have viewed these videos. DQ, are you going to say its not there fault the chiefs are stealing, i dont care. Im sure our government must be aware of this. They need to be thrown in jail. 1 more thing, i am tired of people who are unhappy with there life and scream racism, its weak and pathetic. Someone has an opposing opinion, and people call them racist ,enough, freaking BS !
So what your saying is that you don't care what's actually happening behind the scenes, just how it can be put in the worst possible light?
