Wild. I wondered if it had any connection to the asteroid that is set to move through in the next day or so, but apparantly, there is no connection.

The information coming out is that the trajectory if this meteor crash is opposite of the incoming one today.

To clarify, The explosion that occured in the atmosphere was caused by the meteor breaking apart - the pieces of the meteor that struck the earth are called meteorites. It is rare to have a meteor enter our atmospher that is large enough to survive intact that close to the earth before 'burning up' or fragmenting. It must have been pretty big before it entered our atmosphere!

if it was a 7 ton metalic rock, it was no where near the size of a bus. the size of a big freezer mayby. but then, how did they know how heavy it was?
