Question Bay Street Wal-Mart carts laying and parked all over town?

Whats the policy with those shopping carts ? Wal-Mart just does not care?

I see them parked miles from the Station Mall and people with them loaded and pushing them down the streets even with nothing from Wal-Mart inside them.

Wal-Mart would charge a person for taking a $2 bag of chips but they do not care about those shopping carts? What are those things worth a piece? $150 more or less and they don,t care about them?

Is there a reward to return abandon carts? I could load my truck and trailer with them in a afternoon.LOL

Carts start at very near $200.00 new and yes there USED to be a bounty for the returned carts as a friend used to collect them and donate the moneys to his scout troupe. Whether or not they still do this is anyone's guess.

There so many around the side of the streets I,m amazed there are any left at the store for actual Wal-Mart customers. Some people really put the mileage on them when you see them across town from the nearest store.

Thats what I found odd, they walk these $200 carts in plain site of everyone including passing police cars with no problem ,far from the original store's property without a care, but would get more in trouble if there was a stolen 0.50 cent gum inside of it.

Cops over look a lot. People running cautions, making rolling stops at stop signs, hell, they rarely ever bother a bicycle. I was told it was the cops prerogative to interpret the laws. BS!

I think that walmart should be like no frills that you have to pay .25 cents to use a cart. Down south its a dollar to use a cart at most of the grocery stores. Most grocery stores should do this so they arent losing carts all around town. There is a guy that picks up the carts from around town and returns them to the stores.

Can do what I have seen down in the states. They have locking devices on the carts so when the carts get pushed a certain distance away the brakes are locked and you can't move the cart. Usually the distance is just within the parking lot.

I'm talking about in Toronto, I'm not sure if you're in the Sault or not, if so, I don't know if any of them do that.
