Thread: New Buffalo Sabre's Coach

    Default New Buffalo Sabre's Coach

Way to go Ted Nolan. TSN reports that Ted is new interim coach in Buffalo and Pat LaFonataine is President of Hockey Operations.

Is Mr. nolan any good at coaching? He seems to have had ample opportunity to prove himself yet he gets shunted from virtually every position he's gotten to this point. He seems a nice enough fellow so there has to be a glitch somewhere. I stopped watching hockey years ago therefore my query.

The black-balling Nolan got from John Muckler after his first time with Buffalo must now be dead. In being so, today also marks the official end of Muckler's reign as someone who must be heeded in NHL circles. It had to end eventually.

I would say NHL coach of the year counts for something. The fact that Nolan is hired the day Darcy Regier is fired is hilarious.

The cat didn't come back the very next day but he does check in every now and then.

He has been relieved of duty on more occasions than the one, or am I wrong? NHL coach of the year is great I would imagine but as I typed prior, my knowledge is somewhat limited due to my lack of interest and therefore not following.
Who or what was Darcy Regier.

Rolston a former Laker Coach, Nolan a former Hounds coach.

If Nolan doesn't work out look for the Sabres to avoid the two Saults for a while, at least when it comes to bench bosses.

One would think if Nolan were as good as some believe he would at lest have a more full resume if not possible tenure with a worthy team. Regardless it would be nice to see a local do well.

Ted Nolan is a good man and a Damn Good Hockey Coach.

He led the Greyhounds to the greatest success the franchise has ever seen.

He won the Coach of the year then got turfed out and blackballed by John Muckler, I don't know why but that's what happened

Because he didn't kowtow to Muckler, and that was a no-no back then.

Muckler and Sather ran a veritable mafia family, NHL-style back in the day. If you crossed them, you paid a steep price.

Nolan spouted off to Muckler, and Muckler promised him he would never coach in the NHL again.

Well he was wrong because he finally got a job on the Isle.

But they were the poster child for a dysfunctional franchise at that time.

Garth Snow, Yashin and Dipietro. How can you call that dysfunctional?

I'm still of the mindset that John Spano never got a fair shake with the Islanders.

In one day from Back Up Goalie to General Manager who does that.

Mike Milbury, I don't even know where to start.

This weekend may not be very good for a Leafs Fan.

Tomorrow night's game could be Mayhem.
