I'm happy with my Android smartphone, so Microsoft need not apply.
Although, Windows 10 looks like a major improvement over Windows 8 so that's a no-brainer, but I plan on sticking with my Windows 7 OS.
Anyone else?
The problem with quotes on the internet is that you can never be certain they're authentic.

Same here. If they give the pro version away for free I might use it as a second OS. If I have to pay for it than no.

I did the upgrade yesterday. So far I am not turned off by it. There was the usual configuring to be done, but so far not too bad. I've been playing around with it most of the day, and find it a bit more responsive than windows 7 that I upgraded from

Did you notice how they do fonts when you open windows? The very first second or so it is out of focus. I think that is why it feels faster, because you barely notice it under normal conditions.

Not sure why Edge is getting so much hype but I miss being able to 'swipe' back to previous web page.
Going to stick with windows 7, again.

Here's an article about Windows 10 security settings and how to turn them off... I too am sticking with Windows 7.

I like it, just turned off a pile of crap to do with privacy.
It's fast.
So far I'm ok with Windows 10. I turned off the security settings but otherwise haven't had to make any other tweaks. It does seem faster. It's running all my programs quite well. I wasn't too impressed with Edge. I found it too bloated and slow, so I just switched to IE. Not a big deal as I mostly use Chrome anyway.

It beats Win 8.1 all to hell!![]()

I don't see this going over well in a corporate environment.

I took advantage of the free upgrade. The process is rather annoying, let me explain.
You qualify for a free upgrade, however you can reinstall and reactivate on the same hardware should you require "a wipe". I am not sure if that is unlimited or not.
The free upgrade does not give you a new serial. Instead it activates based on your old serial, and then ties it to your online account so you can wipe and reinstall.
So in order to get a clean install I had to use the following time consuming process:
- Install windows 8.1 pro and activate.
- Upgrade for free to Windows 10 pro form within windows 8.1.
- Download windows 10 pro iso image from Microsoft for free.
- Wipe drive clean, reinstall using windows 10 pro iso.
- Log in to same account I used to install upgrade to 10, and it automatically activated.
It would have been a lot easier to allow me to install fresh using a valid windows 8.1 serial...
