Does anyone have a copy of XP or 7 that I could borrow/purchase? I need to re-format my desktop.

1) I strongly suggest not going with windows xp. It has no support at all from Microsoft. After day zero ( when Microsoft stopped supporting it) a myriad of exploits came out with no fixes.
2) If your PC has a valid windows COA on it somewhere ( 25 character alphanumeric key) you can download your copy of windows via bit torrent or through Microsoft. Put it on a formatted thumb stick. A few clicks and you're done.
If you need instructions on installing from a USB stick. Post here so you don't get stuck installing unnecessary third party software.

You can use phone support to re-activate your installation if it is not an OEM installation. If it is OEM it will activate itself if you use the standard OEM keys.
