Ive seen all the work thats been going on on the outside of the building. Men working on the roof and diggers digging the pavement. Does anyone know what store is going in there?

We have a MONTANNAS coming as well,,,that should end the CHICAGO place on McNab Street. We could use an OLIVE GARDEN too.

You do have to appreciate how Home Depot doesn't clutter the place up with a bunch of knowledgeable staff. So open, unconfined. It makes it easier to get to the exit and head across the street where you may have to wait but knowledgeable staff are there all day every day.

It seems we have a plethora of Italian restaurants, some choice in ethnicity would be interesting. Greek, Ukrainian, Kurdish anything for a change of pace.

Speaking of fish...anyone recall SEABOY FISH AND CHIPS on Bruce Street? They used to wrap the takeout orders in old newspapers....miss that place.

As a practicing high holiday Catholic I remember it well.

I do so enjoy seafood. The local offerings are slim and all too often over cooked.

Someone mentioned Toys R Us. If Sault Ste. Marie can land this store, I can guarantee that there is absolutely a HUGE market and that this store would ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be busy. I'm almost 21 and I still collect dinkie cars, so customers of all ages can shop there, it's a great store, I like the Sudbury store, I think we need a toy store.

ALSO, a Giant Tiger. For the second time in two years, I wrote a long and extremely passionate plea to the executives of the store chain, outlining the many reasons they should open a Sault location. The most important reason being that other than the 75,000 population, we have thousands of people in Prince Township and Heyden and Goulais, up to Wawa. We have thousands more in the towns of Echo Bay, Desabrats, Thessalon, St. Joseph's Island, Iron Bridge, Bruce Mines, Blind River... There really is no reason that GT should NOT locate a store here. They can take the old Red Apple/Bargain Shop space in the Wellington Square Mall.

If, of course, the Mall management decides to stop being greedy and demand extremely high amounts of money for rent.

Would be surprised to see toys r us here. Don't think we have the market, plus ssm is too cheap. Prices there are quite a bit higher than walmart, and that's all people will say.

As for giant tiger, not sure why you have such an obsession over them, they are junky stores a step up from dollarama.

What I can see us having in the future would be homesense and/or a store such as bed bath beyond. Not many places stock items similar to theirs, and with the upcoming demise of Sears Canada there won't be much more than winners or walmart.

Hey when you get married you can keep collecting dinkie cars as long as you subscribe to the DINKY (Dual Income No Kids Yet) way of life. Otherwise your collection will be doomed to destruction.
