hey gang I have not been around for aw while but this has been bugging me for a while. as some of you know we have had elk introduced in certain parts of Ontario. one spot around iron bridge had many problems with these elk. anyway it came down to a cull was necessary because of property damage etc.
so at great expense to the taxpayer, firstly to bring in the elk and after that paying the farmers for crop damage etc. , al at the taxpayers expense. so how did this cull take place, members of garden river first nation were asked to do the cull!! instead of an introduced hunting season , just to generate lost taxes etc first nations were able to harvest these elk. how is this right?? just saying

I see nothing wrong with what went down. If the herd is reduced and meat supplied to families...GREAT !!!!

do you guys realize how much the taxpayers paid for these elk?? and if you think it is a traditional thing.... there NEVER was any elk around blind river.....ever.
elk were introduced (stupidly) in order to some day have an established hunt...I would have loved to have the opportunity to hunt elk, since MY tax money was used to bring these critters here...
