Does anyone know if the salmon are running at the Clergue Power Generating Station yet, or when they should be??

Thanks

They have been for a while now, just starting to get better..
I was at the boardwalk today and watched one of the regulars reel in a chinook about 8 lbs., it was still mostly silver in color..

You have a few a few weeks yet, but the longer you wait the darker and softer the fish get.

ok just so that everyone knows... the chinooks get adrker not becasue they are bad......it is becasue they are supossed to swim up rivers( when there is rivers lately) and the dark green is camo for them...in other words, it helps to hide them from preditors..........it does not mean the are bad, when they are botchy and non energetic, that is when you should trow em back, they also get a lot of bruiing from the rivers these days becasue they are so low...

remeber green is not bad, its camo so they blend better in the rivers with the ground.

"In the ocean, the Chinook salmon is a robust, deep-bodied fish with a bluish-green coloration on the back which fades to a silvery color on the sides and white on the belly. Colors of spawning Chinook salmon in fresh water range from red to copper to almost black, depending on location and degree of maturation. Males are more deeply colored than the females and also are distinguished by their "ridgeback" condition and by their hooked nose or upper jaw. Juveniles in fresh water are recognized by well-developed parr marks which are bisected by the lateral line. " ALASKA DEPT OF FISH AND GAME
