Gas price in Sault Mich is as low as $1.80 US per US gallon. With exchange ( $1 CDN = .73 US) and conversion for difference in the gallon (6 US = 5 CDN), we will pay $0.65 per litre in Sault Mich. This is a $0.40 per litre ($1.06 - .65) difference. Can anyone say GOUGING.

Our system is not "free" yet we do enjoy it, thanks. Along with health care, we can also live in our own homes after extensively employing it. Ask me. Both my heart surgeries at the Peter Munk Medical Centre cost me nothing extra out of pocket. Two standard pacemakers and a pacemaker/defibrillator cost me nothing out of pocket as will my new pacemaker/defibrillator when installed. Stays in hospital for weeks at a time, no extra cost. If I did the math right gas across the river is 62 cents a liter after exchange . Usually we are only 30 cents a litre more not 44 cents.
1.80 a US gallon divide by 3.78 to get to litres, then add 30% exchange rate.

Oh, you mean to say that somebody ELSE paid for her health care?? Last I looked, I PAID out of pocket for insurance, OR it was part of my wage package.
And that no one in the USA loses their home to medical bills.

Your second line is a waste for those able to read and comprehend my statement regarding the cost of healthcare. Now regarding your colleague not being out of pocket, she is simply given insurance? 63 cents (Canadian) per litre across the river right now vs our $1.06 per litre. Now that is worth the bridge fee.

I wouldn't cross simply for gas but if I am over anyway, definitely. Especially if my tank is low. I am going over today and taking a jerry can with me.

Better deal for a pickup truck person with a large 100 litre tank plus 5 gallons can in the back. At 30 cents on the dollar exchange rate I'm not sure if anything else is much of a deal any longer.
