Question. I need a range extender that is pretty powerful but isn't $1000.

I have a garage that is about 75-90 feet away from my house. My shaw advanced wifi modem gets me one bar occasionally in there.

I've tried the netgear ac1200 ex6200, amped sr300, and a similar Linksys (with these being at a window with line of sight of the garage) and they don't do any better than the shaw modem.


Anyone have anything they've tried that will give a longer range than that? Trying to do anything I can before having to dig a line.

A good one will do the same, because their transmit and receive power is regulated.

I am assuming you have power in your garage.

I've tried the powerline adapters. They didn't work for me.
