I see it more as the fault of the crusaders. They were unable to finish the job way back then.

Just talked to somebody last night with experience in the Middle East. Americans are there for the oil, nothing else.

    So it's obvious.

You honestly thought there was more to it?

As "terror" attacks go it pales when compared to others yet if terror-related then I would have to assume it is in direct comparison with our goings on in the middle east. While we had little involvement comparatively it was meddling none the less. We defile the soil of some Muslim sects simply by being on their soil, invited or otherwise. Were we to cease operations in Muslim areas it is said terrorism would decrease. Stability in the area notwithstanding. Terrorism does seem directed toward those meddling in middle-east affairs just the same whether or not one chooses to admit it or not.

Muslims (like Christians) believe that a messiah (of sorts) known as the Mahdi will one day appear and lead them to victory, and then rule on earth, uniting all Muslims, and subjugating the earth. Towards this end, there have been some factions (such as ISIS) who believe that the Mahdi's return will be hastened by inciting war against the infidels. I am not sure if bin Laden or the Taliban was of that ilk.

I do not believe that terrorsm will ever stop. As long as human hearts remain unregenerate, there will be violence and mayhem from a certain percentage of humanity, regradless of their religion or politic. There will always be a 'reason'.

I believe terrorism in the name of religion will eventually stop.
Looking back in history, it has always stopped.

It's a shame the crusaders of old were never able to complete what they set out to do. It would for sure have mitigated the current situation.
However, we caused some of this ourself with our bad decisions over the past 100 years.

Blue you make mention of making war against the infidels and offer possibly ruling the earth in the end. What was Christianities reasoning behind the Holy Wars?

That is going by the assumption you were talking about the crusades.

Sorry, I pop in here maybe once a month anymore..
Yes, Hans is right. It was a response to the Islamic invasions.

Or are you talking about the wars and the original conquests of the 12 tribes of Israel over Canaan?

Doubtful, seeing Christianity did not exist then.
