Default Dead Sea Scroll fragments discovered to be ‘fakes’ at the Museum of the Bible

The Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. has confirmed that five of its 16 Dead Sea Scroll fragments are fakes.

German materials research institute Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und-prüfung (BAM) conducted an extensive analysis of the scrolls. Five fragments “show characteristics inconsistent with ancient origin,” the Museum of the Bible said, in a statement released Monday. The artifacts have been removed from display.

Fake news? Really? Can you provide a link to verify? I'd like to know.
I find it odd that the news item did not tell us what these 'faked' m****cripts were copies of. Were they copies of parts of the Old Testament?

It apears to be genuine news after all.

More proof you have to be careful when it comes to relics.
They have a tendency of not being what they initially seem to be.

That does not equate to "tendency"

Well, we have several spears of destiny in the world, discovered over time.
If there is a real one, then clearly the other ones are fakes.
In those, you can see a tendency.

The dead sea scrolls, 6 of them were fake.
    There's clearly a tendency there also. https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/26/us/ev...lls/index.html
It seems there's actually a whole business model setup taking advantage of the beliefs of honest Christian people and sell them fake relics.
Those who setup these sales know very well that those honest Christians will eventually become blinded by their desire for these things to be the "real thing".

I do not think there is an argument here. Of course there is a 'tendency' of fraudulence in the ancient relics market.

I think it was Christians who asserted "All have sinned!"

Paul was actually quoting (paraphrasing) the OT there.

Do we have to define the word ALL for you, Hans?

You can't assume everyone has sinned, that's absurd.
So "all" in that sentence obviously does not mean "all".

    Why is it absurd?

What would be the point of sin existing or not existing, if everyone has sinned anyways?
Or in other words: what's the difference in stating everyone has sinned, or nobody has sinned?

It reminds man of his infinite smallness in relation to God
