Default House Dems unveil coronavirus bill estimated to cost $3T, in largest stimulus package

I realize the USA has a big economy and all that stuff, but at this rate the American people and it's industries will not be able to repay all this "give away" money at a later time in taxes.

Trillions are flying out of the printing presses like it's nothing.

The White House counter-proposal is more realistic.

A one-time $5,000 check, to be pro-rated from eventual social security (retirement fund) checks once a person starts collecting those.

For instance, if, hypothetically, you were to start drawing social security retirement checks in June, 2030, you would instead begin drawing in September, 2030, to help defray the cost of stimulus round #2.

Sure, it would be nice to not have to wait that extra three months, but you can't just print money to make the problem go away. And if you have 5,10,20,25 years to prepare for that three month window, I think you could endure it with little problem.

But Dems know it's an election year, so they're reaching for the moon. Once the Republicans block Pelosi's ridiculous bill the Dems then can use that as a campaign issue: "We wanted to give you thousands of dollars and not have you pay it back, but the Republicans ..."

Ahhh, politics, even in a pandemic.
