Default This might be your child...

My son has a friend from school, who comes by and asks my son to go for a bike ride or to come over to his house. I have mentioned to this boy before that he should be wearing a helmet, but he shrugged it off. Well today this boy who might be 9 or 10 comes by on a HUGE bike..way to big for him.. he can hardly get on the bike and went right out into traffic infront of my house and almost got hit by a car!!! Please parents!! Think before letting your child ride a bike... #1 this bike is way to big and #2 he isn't wearing a helmet!! Do you not care about your childs safety?????

Personally, I would tell the child to go home and get his helmet or my son isn't going for a ride with him.

Thats right I would the same thing. Its the parents that will have to pay the fine maybe they will learn their lesson and make their kid wear a helmet wheather they want to or not. Its called parenting
No matter how bad things may seem someone always has it worse.

always so quick to blame the parent.....not saying they are not at fault at times but in this case you have no more knowledge of the sitution but that you seen th eboy with a big bike and had no helmet...how do you know his parents didn't tell him to wear one and he had it on till around the corner and got rid of it? or why don't you go see his parents and talk to them about your concern rather than bashing his parents online without having all of the facts...and it takes a community to raise a child....we all play a part.....

Hmm well a helmet would not affect him if he got hit by a car in which his head would be crushed, but i agree always have you children where a helmet for those minor-major falls, but a car or dump truck usually wins no matter what.

I don't expect the community to raise my child....

Not true. A child can be knocked off a bicycle by impact with a car even at a slow speed. A helmet is meant to protect the child's head when they hit the pavement for a variety of reasons...or an adult's.

I always wear a helmet when I ride my bike. Parents should set an example for their children and do the same.
