What does it mean when a laptop's screen just shuts off? The computer is on but the screen is black. Tried restarting a few times and each time it stays on for a few minutes and then just goes black. No warning, nothing.
Any ideas??

Even if he just closes the top of the laptop and then reopens it, the screen will come back but then almost immediately goes off again.

either you have a cable issue or a inverter board is going. What make and model is it.

He just tried to reset the backlight thing by removing the battery and power as suggested but that didn't work either. Crappy part is the warranty just expired 10 days ago!!!

Contat ACER anyways and tell tehm what happened..if it's only 10 days out they may be willing to do something anyways
