2 Job interviews today

Today I had two job interviews. First one was at Cross Country, second one was at Sutherland. Cross Country can offer shifts within the hours of 2p.m.-midnight. Sutherland didn't mention the hours, only promised Sundays off. Here's my question to everyone, if I were lucky enough to be offered positions from both companies, which one should I accept and why. Oh ya, Cross Country offered more money, however, Sutherland offers bonuses for selling products!!!

Cross Country. Sutherland has a way with words

They can't promise you sundays off. Never have, never will. You sign with a "dynamic" work enviroment, which means, days nights weekends weekdays different campaigns different pay.

They also offer reprocussions for NOT selling products.

My sister and brother in law both have worked at Cross Country, and so you're offering roadside assistance, not selling anything. I believe that would far less stressful, which is probably more important that pay or time off. What good is good pay and good hours if you're not going to last a week due to stress?

at cross country, you need to have tough skin since you'll be getting a lot of angry people swearing at you and making you feel like crap

really? My sister worked there for over a year and never said anything like that. Not saying it's not true, just I guess it wasn't bad enough to mention. Perhaps the customers treated her differently though because she's a girl, and sounds young.

I'm a girl and I was 22 working @ sutherland! The best is when they call you stupid.

My supervisor made me take a call from a total HICK and omg, I mean HICK. The guy was talking 400mph, he slurred words and his slang was outragous!

I finally told him that I didn't talk hick and I couldn't help him. I quit not long after. Not much I can do when I can't understand ya!

I worked at cross country for 6 months and liked it alright, it's nice that you can get set shifts and set days off, where as others your days always change, they have free coffee tea and hot chocolate all the time for employees, it's cleanish, and not all customers that you get are bad, but a few are horrible.
You don't have to sell anything which is nice and most calls are very simple, find out where they are, what the problem is, and send someone out.
I would choose it over sutherland, or any other call center, just because I hate selling.

The best is when you have that hick speaking some sort of country halfbred yodel redneckian language, and they say

HEEE HAW Y'all, bout nat time we gots some bodies on da ringa jig that speaks the english!

i did the sutherland thing for a few years along side teapot a few others on this board, and when i am ready to go back to work it will not be there, everyone i liked either got fired, laid off, or quit when they did all their downsizing. I think i would go to cross country myself if i had to go back to a call center

I have worked at Sutherland and am currently working at cross county on the over night shift. I find the people are nicer and the calls are nicer too... cross country knows how to run a company unlike sutherland. the free cofee and hot chocolate tea ect... is a bonus IMO take the offer for cross country, they don't hide anything and Suther-screw is just like T-pot says, they will not garuntee you your Sundays off, they may change it "just because"

Sounds like Cross Country is the better of the two. Hopefully I get offered the job. I'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the opinions.
