Default I'm over 40 and thinking of getting tubes untied?

Anyone ever done this? I have an appt in Oct with the doctor that tied them and I don't even know if he will untie them? I had then done right after my son was born but now I feel like I'm in a better financial position for another kid and would like to try. I know the risks are high but I know women that have had healthy kids over 40. Unfortunately I have to pay out of pocket for it, does anyone know if a work insurance policy will pay part? Thanks for any info

Wow, good luck to you! My cousin had a baby after 40, she said it was pretty hard...but then again her daughter was a suprise

In any case, I hope you get the help you are looking for! And I wish you many fertile days

What your thinking of doing could end up down the road being something you might be wishing you hadn't of tried. Complications etc., I know someone who attempted the same and it didn't work out well at all.
Think long and hard about this decision because it could really change your life and not necessarily in a good way.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I know JB there are alot of variables to consider. With age comes more problems, I wish women were like men a 90 year old can still father children but a mid 40 yr old woman they are not only risking their life but the life of the unborn is at risk. Your supposedly most fertile at like 16yrs old! I've had three healthy children, but probably because I'm getting to the point of no more that I feel the need to have another. My husband wanted to adopt but that takes too long and they do a thorough background which he won't look favorable. I figure I will spend the $100 to have the consult then decide what to do.

Wow, I can't even think of having another kid at 40. I'm 28 right now and my three tire me out. I'm looking forward to the grandchildren at 40 (love the thought of playing with them and then sending them home ) All the power to you if you have the energy and good health. Myself, I don't think I would want to be raising a teen in by 50's and worrying about college fees when retirement is around the corner. I love babies myself, would love another one right now, but hubby says we have enough

Studies show that "MEN" over 40 have a higher risk of having a child with austism. So there are risks with men having children at higher ages too... not just women... Good Luck to you though!! I am just about 31.. and am in school for nursing.. and by the time I am done I will be 34..I might have another child then if I still want one!!
