latests XP update.

Yesterday, XP tried to update with the authentification bull**** again. I obviously chose not too and told it not to ask again. The today it wanted to update the net framework to 1.1 or something and I said ok. It downloads it but won't install. Whats the deal?

Does that not sound like tech support.... lol

Try and download the 1.1 framework separately and see if that works.

I just went to MS site to updates and chose express... the only update for me is this below... yes a newer Genuine Advantage Notification update.

So of course i downloaded it and installed it. Works fine for me as i am not running a Caribbean Copy of XP.

Under custom update ... i just chose (right now) 1.1 framework update and all is fine for me.

It installed without any issues.
